GED Testing Policies
All testers should report by 7:45 am.  GED testing begins at 8:00 am. If you need to reschedule your test date, please notify the Regional Office of Education in the county where you registered within 24 hours before the testing date.  You will be assigned another testing date.  If you do not call and you do not appear at the test site as scheduled all fees will be forfeited.

Have your ID with you when you arrive at the test site.  It will be checked.  If you arrive without your ID, you will not be eligible to test. Please arrive at the testing site early for check in.  If you are not sure where the testing site is, give yourself ample time to find it.  If you are late you will be considered a “no show” and all fees will be forfeited.

Computer Based Testing and Fee Increase - 2014
There will be changes made to the GED Test beginning Calendar Year 2014.  Currently, we test using pencil and paper and that will remain the same for 2013.  In calendar year 2014, GED is going to Computer Based Testing.  The current fee for the entire battery (Reading, Language Arts, Writing, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies) is $50.00 for first-time testers.  In 2014, the fee for first time testers will increase to $120.00.  In addition,  anyone who has already taken the GED Test but did not pass the entire battery must do so by the last test date scheduled for 2013, which will be in December for both the Herrin Civic Center and the Benton Community Building.  All applicants (past and future) who have not passed the entire battery by the end of calendar year 2013 will have to re-take the GED on a computer.  THIS INCLUDES THOSE TESTS THAT YOU MAY HAVE ALREADY PASSED.  Just remember, you must pass all five tests by the end of calendar year 2013 or you will have to do the entire battery over on a computer.
