Understanding and Responding to Challenging Behaviors

This training will examine brain development and the role it plays in challenging behaviors. Participants will also look at the importance of having realistic expectation of themselves and students. Participants will also recognize the relationship between Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs and Bloom’s Taxonomy of Education. Participants will learn some new strategies to help students reduce challenging behaviors and how to individualize this for the children in their classrooms.

Participants will explore how challenging behavior affects them and their students and learn alternative problem solving and skill building strategies that will help reduce challenging behaviors and promote a better sense of well-being and have overall enhanced academic experience.
