JOB SUMMARY
ROE 21 is seeking a Coordinator for the Alternative Learning Opportunities Program (ALOP) to provide visionary leadership, effective supervision, and exceptional administrative skills in support of students, educators, and program staff. This role is essential in fostering educational excellence by developing and overseeing personalized interventions that support student success. The ALOP Coordinator will work collaboratively with schools, families, and community partners to ensure students receive the academic, social-emotional, and behavioral support necessary for holistic development.
This position requires a strong commitment to innovation and continuous improvement, ensuring that ALOP remains a high-impact program that aligns with ROE 21’s mission to build the capacity of learners to grow, educators to teach, leaders to lead, and districts to improve.
KEY PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Supervises, evaluates and supports Student Advocates
- Leads, monitors, and refines the implementation of ALOP programming in assigned school districts
- Facilitates weekly team meetings, case reviews, and assistance in program application
- Coordinates and participates in Family and Community Engagement Activities at site locations
- Aligns with school district policies and procedures
- Works as the liaison among ROE 21 ALOP participating schools, families, and community agencies
- Monitors program implementation with a focus on maintaining program integrity
- Manages the student information system and reports measurable success with students in respective programs; regularly monitors and provides feedback to advocates regarding case notes/data
- Collaborates with district administrators regarding the effective implementation of the program in concert with each district’s policies and procedures
- Participates in planning and delivery of professional development
- Collaborates in the refinement of the Advocate Handbook Addendum as a part of the ROE Staff Handbook.
- Advises, mentors, and consults with staff on difficult student/family cases
- Provides ongoing technical assistance and guidance to Student Advocates
- Other essential duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS
- Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, School Administration, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field (preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, or a related field with significant experience in program coordination, student support services, or school leadership (minimum requirement).
- Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an endorsement in administration, counseling, or related areas (preferred but not required, depending on experience).
- Organization and case management skills and ability to motivate people.
- Computer database/word processing skills, knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e‐mail, are recommended.
- Written and oral communication skills; Consistent and positive professional interactions.
- Ability to work independently in a variety of settings and as part of a team.
- Advocacy skills, including the ability to negotiate, compromise, and confront conflict.
- Ability to communicate effectively across a broad spectrum of staff.
- Ability to cooperate with families and school staff.
- Provide leadership and model desired characteristics of Student Advocates in all professional relationships.
SALARY / BENEFITS: This is a full-time position offering a salary range of $60,000 to $70,000, commensurate with experience. In addition to the competitive salary, we provide a comprehensive benefits package.
