ALTERNATIVE SCHOOL PRINCIPAL
ROE 21 is seeking an innovative and student-focused leader to serve as Principal of our Alternative School, a program designed to empower students academically and personally. This school serves students facing unique challenges that impact their success in traditional settings. Through structured academic programming, individualized interventions, and strong community partnerships, we help students build resilience, stay engaged, and achieve their full potential.
We are looking for a visionary instructional leader who will cultivate a high-expectations learning environment, implement data-driven academic strategies, and lead a dedicated team of educators in preparing students for success in school and beyond.
KEY PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Lead academic programming that prioritizes rigor, student engagement, and individualized learning plans.
- Develop and implement attendance improvement strategies, ensuring proactive outreach and intervention strategies to support at-risk students.
- Strengthen partnerships with home schools to align academic plans, support transitions, and track student progress.
- Provide instructional leadership, coaching staff in best practices for classroom management, differentiated instruction, and student engagement.
- Utilize data-driven decision-making to identify learning gaps, measure growth, and drive continuous improvement.
- Foster a positive school culture that promotes academic accountability, social-emotional development, and post-secondary readiness.
- Build community and agency partnerships to expand career pathways, mentoring opportunities, and additional student supports.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal education policies, advocating for the unique needs of alternative education students.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a General Administrative or Principal Endorsement.
- Experience in alternative education, instructional leadership, staff supervision, attendance intervention, and behavioral support is strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to drive student success through effective leadership, staff collaboration, and school-wide improvement initiatives.

SALARY / BENEFITS: This is an 11-month position offering a salary range of $65,000 to $75,000, commensurate with experience. In addition to the competitive salary, we provide a comprehensive benefits package.
