Professional Learning Specialist
JOB SUMMARY
The Professional Learning Specialist will support and lead professional development, collaborate with the Professional Learning Director to improve instructional strategies, and provide ongoing support throughout ROE 21. The specialist will assist with aligning curriculum to state and national standards, analyze data for continuous improvement, and stay current with research and best practices.
KEY PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Attend Professional Learning Opportunities to enhance current skill base.
- Collaborate with teachers to design, implement, and evaluate effective instruction.
- Provide ongoing support and professional development for teachers.
- Assist in analyzing student and school performance data to identify areas for continuous improvement.
- Assist districts in the alignment of curricula to state and national standards.
- Facilitate professional learning opportunities.
- Stay current with research and best practices and share findings with staff.
- Foster a positive and collaborative culture focused on continuous improvement and student success.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others – staff, colleagues, school districts and community.
- Excellent organization and communication skills (oral and written).
- Must have proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education with valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Master’s Degree, preferred
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, and various training methodologies
- Strong data analysis skills and the ability to use data to inform instruction.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other staff members.
- Knowledge and implementation of relevant technology.
- Commitment to professional growth and continuous improvement.
- Ability to think strategically, solve complex problems, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience in coaching or mentoring teachers is preferred.
- Experience with adult learners.
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development.
SALARY / BENEFITS: This is a full-time position offering a salary range of $60,000 to $70,000, commensurate with experience. In addition to the competitive salary, we provide a comprehensive benefits package.
