Instructional Coaching in ROE #21

This job-embedded professional development is designed to improve teachers’ instructional practices to enhance student learning. This training, presented by Dr. Kelly Stewart is offered as a cohort model to individuals in our region, in addition to individuals throughout the state. Each year, cohorts participate in 6 full day or half day coaching sessions. The sessions are held in-person, virtual, or through a hybrid model.

The Instructional Coaching Model is based on the Jim Knight’s six instructional coaching domains:

  • Adult learning

  • Instructional coaching cycle

  • Using video recordings to gather data

  • Instructional practices described in an instructional playbook

  • Communication skills

  • Leadership skills

Participants who join the cohort receive:

  • Six days of Professional Development per year
  • Access to Dr. Stewart via email or phone support
  • The following books:
    • Better Conversations Reflection Guide 
    • Impact Cycle Reflection Guide 
    • The High-Impact Instruction Workbook
    • The Leader’s Guide to Coaching in Schools
